Our Story

In 2017, Matt and Valorie Loessin bought the property, that is now the Vara Ranch headquarters as a place for our family to enjoy. As owners of a large national surveying and engineering firm, we couldn’t think of a better name for the ranch than the original survey measurement “Vara”, which was used in the original layout of Texas. Vara Ranch was initially started as an exotic breeding ranch and family home to have some fun. However our family’s lifelong love of the outdoors and hunting led to the creation, and explosive growth, of a full breeding facility for whitetail and super exotics.
